An Ideal Lifestyle – Moving Forward With Action

July 18th, 2011

When you see people who are living a life that you would like to have for yourself, what thoughts come to mind. For me it is a series of questions. What do they have that I don’t have? What are they doing that I need to learn or emulate? What will it take for me to create that outcome for myself? If we want to accomplish something, particularly something that has been accomplished before, we have a great opportunity to look around and witness plenty of examples that is can be done. This is encouraging, right?

I think of business a lot like the movie and entertainment business. In the movies, actors play a part. They read the details of the character they are going to play and they start to formulate the characteristics and the mindset so they can Continue reading »

What To Do When You’re Not Doing What You Need To Do!

May 18th, 2011

Do you have something you really want to accomplish, but you wake up and start your day by doing something completely unrelated? Do you wake up and instead open your email or you log into your favorite social media account, why? Is you mind going 100 miles a minutes with all the things that you could be doing, and most of them are not associated with your next deadline? Why is it that you have a big goal in front of you and yet find yourself avoiding it?

Avoiding what we know we need to do is something that every person who is human experiences. That is the good news, you are not alone! It has been called self-sabotage, avoidance , fear and many other things. I think that those are valid observations, but I also think Continue reading »

Momentum Online – How To Get From Idea To Action

April 11th, 2011

Momentum is a big part of moving our businesses forward. Any worthwhile project seems to need countless hours and a great amount of effort at the beginning. What makes it even harder is that you often don’t see any real rewards or results at the start of the project. You have an idea of what you would like to accomplish, but the path is not clearly lit. How do you move forward without knowing exactly how it will turn out? You have to put forth a great deal of trust in your own ability to see this idea through to fruition and you have to commit to sticking with it through the slow start.

As your momentum increases (and it will) you will find yourself Continue reading »

Become More Productive – Accountability For Results

April 8th, 2011

It is just the coolest thing how we have an enhanced sense of responsibility to others who may be counting on us, even when what we are doing has nothing to do with them. When we have a structure of a accountability we step up and maintain greater focus because we know that others are aware of our goals and what we are committed to achieving.

When I look back over my past, I have always been far more productive when I was held accountable (when others knew what I was committed to)! There are many different ways to set up accountability. One way is Continue reading »

Become More Productive – Extreme Focus!

April 6th, 2011

One of my biggest productivity success secrets is the idea of setting up 1-3 extreme focus sessions each week. These blocks of time will allow you to work on some of your fun ideas or bigger projects. It can really make a difference if you schedule in time to play with and explore these possibilities.

When you schedule in a period of extreme focus the most important factor is that you shut out all possible distractions. You discipline yourself to not answer the phone, you turn off your email alerts, you shut down your Twitter and facebook accounts (because you know your curiosity will take over) and you just FOCUS!!

You will want to Continue reading »

Become More Productive – Consistent Action

April 4th, 2011

An important part of building your business is to clearly define what things you need to take action on consistently in order to keep your business moving forward. You may be familiar with the saying, “success leaves clues,” that is a statement I first heard from Anthony Robins several years ago. It is an idea that can offer a great deal of hope. If it has been done before, it can be done by you! It’s true that if you look at the people you most admire and respect in any given industry or market place, you will find the commonalities that have supported them and their success. Pay attention and note what these commonalities are. In what ways can you emulate the characteristics that will matter most as you work to accomplish your goals.

When you know exactly what you want to accomplish you can Continue reading »

Forgiveness – What Is Your 2 Cents?

March 29th, 2011

Every now and then a blog topic hits a nerve with people and the discussion become rich and deep. Yesterday I ran across such a blog post by Bob Burg. It is a post that starts a conversation about what you would go if a trusted mentor let you down and did not make good on a promise. Without a great deal of background information, here was my input on the question that was posed to Bob’s community.

My suggestion to a client with that question would be this: No matter what we see, and how we feel we may never know the whole story. Without proper Continue reading »

Your Business Success – 2 Choices

March 9th, 2011

I want to talk about success. I want to talk about how many of us want a better lifestyle and want to reach the next big milestone. I think everyone wants something that they can get really excited about. It is always easy to start the process, to set the goal and to make a promise to ourselves that we will go for it and see what happens. Once the goal is there it is as simple as putting one foot in front of the other, or is it?

Why do we get in our own way? What stops us from moving forward? There are any number of things that jump out on our path that try to distract us and throw us off track. At these moments we have 2 choices and those are to Continue reading »

Business Vision – Thinking Big

January 12th, 2011

Our success is a work in progress and the definition changes and grows as we do. From where you stand right now what is the grandest vision that you can imagine for your future? What does it really look like and what are all the details that make up that vision? This is the fun part, allow yourself to really think big. Don’t worry that you will disappoint yourself, don’t judge if it is possible, just take a few minutes to ponder and ask yourself, “what do I really really want, what would be absolutely amazing to have?”

Think with a pad of paper and jot down all your ideas, look over the ideas and Continue reading »

What does it take to build stronger customer commitment today? It may feel harder then ever with all the competition, but actually it is easier. The trick is to do things that stand out and build customer loyalty. Your customer wants and needs your attention. They want to purchase from you because they want to be a part of the mini empire you are building. How can you include them more in your daily business opperations? How can you stand out and cultivate relationships with your customers? Today is the perfect day to put a plan together and to start a campaign that will allow your customers to stand up and raise their hand and make a stronger commitment to work with you.

One of the first things to do, is so simple it is often overlooked and that is to Continue reading »

No Longer A Perpetual Participant!!

November 8th, 2010

Success is on my mind! It has been for as long as I can remember and it has always been something that I desired and set goals to achieve. I am no longer that person who puts the idea of success out there to hope for some day. I am a person who takes action and each day I accomplish new levels of success. I have crossed the line from thinking about it and hoping for it and knowing in my heart that I deserve it… to really getting up and doing something about it!

I am thinking about what it was that really helped me to cross that line. I was starting to think that “it is now or never”. I have wanted greatness for myself and never seemed to really go out on a limb to get it. At the time, I thought I was working hard and taking action, but I was mistaken. I was in a false state Continue reading »

How To Build A Raving Fan Base

September 20th, 2010

It is important to have raving fans if you are going to make the biggest impact possible. We all want to make a difference, we want to help people and we want to support people. Whatever your expertise is, whether it is cutting hair, plumbing or information marketing, you need raving fans. They are the witnesses to your craft and your skill. We don’t need validation, but it sure does help and it feels good too. What does it take to create raving fans?

Your fans will expect you to be confident and they will be drawn to you if you over deliver. They also want to see and hear that you relate with them and that you have been where they are. The language, the problems, and the concerns. Share that you know it all really well and you have solutions, ideas or a skill that can make it all better.

Be real, be humble and be poised to get in front of the right people. How you make people feel is the key. Think about the people you are in awe of, celebrities, accountants, teachers, what about them makes you a raving fan? The experience people create and the feeling that come from that will stand out and remain the calling card of the go-to people. You can be one of those great and revered people if you take a moment to think about every detail of the experience you are creating for others.

If you have no idea what that would look like or where to begin then you will start by doing some research and be completely present to what others around you are doing and creating for you. Not just the good stuff that you like, but also the experience that disappoint you or leave you feeling under valued as a customer. Those experiences can be very helpful when you dissect it and ask yourself how you would have done it differently, how you could improve it.

Make it a priority to create so much value and such amazing experiences for people that they can’t help but be a raving fan. The ideal is to have raving fans that tell everyone they know how great you are and how they really need to pop over and see what you are up to and be a part of your ‘fan club’. What would this look like? What would this do for your business? When will you implement some changes and where will you start?
