High Productivity – Understand the Real Value of Time

November 1st, 2010

It’s hard to believe, but we have the same amount of time in our day as the President of the United States, the Governor of our State, and the top achiever and producer of any Fortune 500 company.  No matter who we are and what our job is, we have to accept that time given is a level playing field…we all start with the same 24 hours in a day and we end with the same 24 hours spent.

So what prevents us from having a great sense of satisfaction at the end of a day? Most of our frustration is due to Continue reading »

Two Simple Steps to Increase Productivity

October 29th, 2010

When you are a small business owner, it’s so easy to start your day like a race, running as fast as you can and jumping hurdles as they appear in your way. All of a sudden, it’s lunch time – maybe we take a breath and maybe we race through that too.

In the middle of the afternoon you realize you’re TIRED! It’s possible that some of your habits are working against you and actually sucking energy from you even though you feel “busy” all the time. Let’s have a look at a couple of these habits and see if there are some changes you could make to get more done and have some energy leftover at the Continue reading »

Be An Expert – Use Social Media To Get Seen And Known

October 27th, 2010

Imagine you are at a large networking  party or seminar. You go there with the idea to connect with a few key people and also to meet with past and current connections. Being prepared is necessary if you are going to make it around the room and get seen and noticed. Cultivating connections is a bit of an art and it works just as well on the computer, but it is best to have a plan.

Social media is the largest networking party on the planet. Think of each site, such as facebook or Twitter, as a grand ballroom where you can go and meet some amazing people any time you want. These parties are happening 24 hours a day and your choice of grand ballrooms is vast. You’ll explore as many as you hear about and Continue reading »

Overcome Distractions – Your Calendar Is A Great Resource

October 25th, 2010

I am a big advocate for a detailed calendar. I prefer a desk calendar to one that is online, but either one will work. Your calendar will tell the truth about what is important to you and what you most want to accomplish. How you block out your time and what you do with that amount of time is very critical to your success. If you are not making the progress you expect or you are not accomplishing what you know you are capable of, then take a peek at your calendar. In solid print you will see how you are using, or abusing your greatest resource of time.

Time is our greatest resource as well as the great equalizer among all of us. It is one thing to Continue reading »

Business Success – Have You Made A 100% Commitment?

October 22nd, 2010

I bet you have a list of goals, either on paper or in your head. I bet there are some things on that list you want more then others. And, I bet if someone asked you about your goals you would have some great reasons why you have not accomplished them. Are you ready to push past those reasons and really take control of your outcomes? If yes, then the next question is where that control is hiding. Are you truly committed?

It starts with that famous ‘burning desire’ and ends with a 100% commitment that you are willing to do whatever it takes, no matter what! It is a state of mind that has no intention, no possibility of giving up! Know clearly what you want to accomplish then Continue reading »

Twitter Is A Business Tool For Increased Visibility

October 21st, 2010

I’ll admit Twitter was pretty intimidating when I first became interested. I just didn’t get it! A sea of statements, quotes and half sentences from a vast list of people. But I am so glad that I stuck with it! Twitter is one of my top 3 business tools. I love Twitter because it is quick and it is easy to get in and get out. Or at least it is easy if you have a plan. The trick is not leaveing it open all day where you are tempted to peek at what is going on, or if anyone is talking to you. Have a plan to log into your account for certain periods of the day, know what your objective is and why you are there and then get in and get out. My schedule for Twitter is about 10 minutes for 2-3 blocks of time each work day.

It is a necessary business tool because Continue reading »
