Become More Productive – Extreme Focus!

April 6th, 2011

One of my biggest productivity success secrets is the idea of setting up 1-3 extreme focus sessions each week. These blocks of time will allow you to work on some of your fun ideas or bigger projects. It can really make a difference if you schedule in time to play with and explore these possibilities.

When you schedule in a period of extreme focus the most important factor is that you shut out all possible distractions. You discipline yourself to not answer the phone, you turn off your email alerts, you shut down your Twitter and facebook accounts (because you know your curiosity will take over) and you just FOCUS!!

You will want to Continue reading »

I’ve Been Stuck In The Mud!

February 21st, 2011

I have not posted to my blog for a week! That is very unlike me. Three posts a week have been my average since the start. I want to share a personal post with you today. This past week I have not been feeling well… and by that I mean I have had a few mental blocks. I have been overwhelmed and not moving forward. I have felt extra low about that because this is my niche. I take action and move forward, I help people focus and get out of overwhelm, and here I am swimming in that pool instead of being a life guard!!

I want to share what I learned. It is better to Continue reading »

Have Goals And Know How To Use Them

April 14th, 2010

Unless you’ve just arrived from a far away planet you know how much value our society places on goals. They are indeed necessary to move forward, but goals alone are pretty useless unless you know how to use them.

Everyone can relate to making a list of goals at one point or another, for example some people do a big list to start off the new year. In most cases it turns into a big list of hopes and dreams of what might make for a better lifestyle. I am sure there have been many disappointments by just making a list and tucking it a way or moving onto something more pressing in your day.

If you really think about it, what could be more pressing then keeping your goals in front of you and doing something everyday to move yourself closer to them. If you have goals it is not enough, you need to know how to use them. Here’s how:

  1. Keep a short term goal list in front of you until everything is crossed off. For example break you big master list for the year into monthly tasks.
  2. Choose one thing at a time from the short term list and make it a priority. Only one thing at a time should be the top priority. Stick with it until it is complete. You can have another priority only after the first goal has been accomplished.
  3. Have some accountability. Let a friend or partner know what it is you are committed to working on and when it will be done by. Ask them to call and check in with you about your progress.

Goals are wonderful to have and will help you move forward if you use them to keep yourself accountable from day to day. Don’t just think about the great accomplishments you’d like to make, write them down, keep them in front of you. Take time each day to take action on those things that are most important to your success and moving your business forward.

It is not always easy to choose one focus at a time, but it really does work. What will you focus on first and when will you have it done by?
