How To Stay Inspired – Getting Motivated
We all want to wake up each day feeling fully motivated and inspired to do amazing things. It works out that way sometimes, but we can’t count on it every day. No one stays on the “mountain top” all the time; if we did, we’d feel drained emotionally. I think what we really desire is to find a way to stay inspired and motivated on a consistent basis. There are some actions we can take to insure a steady sense of fulfillment and forward motion. It might be easier than you think.
First of all, take responsibility for yourself. When we were Continue reading »

I had just landed a new customer and immediately this line from “Pretty Women” roared loudly in my head, “Baby I am gonna treat you SO good, you’re never gonna let me go!” Never mind that he said , “$500, one week, and Vivian I will let you go!” I have had that line in my head for a week now and it has become my affirmation chant each time I get a new customer. I am on a mission to treat my customers so good that they will be customers for a very very long time!
I wonder what that looks like exactly? I had the idea, but I didn’t say I had the answer. Here is what I have come up with so far:
1.Thank them in as many ways as possible. Facebook message, email, Twitter and even a personal note in the mail. I want them Continue reading »

We all know how important it is yet we don’t all implement that knowledge. How badly do you want to create business success for yourself? What exactly does that look like and are you truly willing to do whatever it takes?
No, it is not always easy. You get the strength and resolve to take action regardless because you Continue reading »

Many of us have full lives that include wearing several different hats. We don’t only have our business to contend with, but much more. When we are building a business along side of having a ‘job’ and spending quality time with our families it can be hard to fit in everything that we need to do to move our business forward. It is great to be ambitious and certainly a necessary quality, but it is more important to set yourself up to win. It is even more important to build the momentum you need to sustain yourself for the long haul.
Your vision is what you what to accomplish and where you want to go. Your goals are Continue reading »

March is here! Yippee! This is the last month of the first quarter and a chance for us to make sure that are goals for the year are aligned with how we are spending our time. We start the year with some big ideas about what we would like to create and then before you know what hits you the end of the year is near. The way I work around that is to reflect and plan each month so that I can be fully present to what I want to accomplish and where I am on that journey.
Here are some of the things I look at each month that help me to be more productive. These ideas Continue reading »
Your Potential – Define What You Are Really Capable Of
What does giving 100% look like for you? If you were going to play hard, play big and win, what would that mean in your business? I was thinking about what I most love to do and that is provoking the potential out of people. I know that most people are not demonstrating all that they are truly capable of, and at the same time those same people daydream about a better lifestyle, a more successful business and stronger personal relationships. What is it that holds us back? What stops us from being all we can be?
There is a wide gap between what we want and what we do about it. What actions Continue reading »

The question is always on my mind.. “What is the difference between those who have achieved success and those that are seeking success?” I was at an event this past weekend in LA called ‘Success Leaves Traces’ and the conversation for 2 full days was all about that question. It is a topic that is of interest to almost everyone. Success may mean different things to different people but the habits of success are the same no matter who you are or what you want.
As I was on the plane coming back to the cold and snow, I thought… being a sun seeker is nothing like being a success seeker! We can’t just jump on a plane and arrive. Maybe that is a silly thought, but I Continue reading »

Ever notice how each day can bring more to do, especially when you love information and have a rush of new ideas almost all the time. I happen to know a few remedies.
1. You have to make tough choices. Be clear on what’s important to you and hold on to that priority no matter what tries to steal your attention. There are a great number of Continue reading »

My favorite nonworking activity is watching movies! I love them so much! I like the movies that make you feel good and leave you truly inspired. The kind of movie that makes you want to step up and be a better person! Do you know what I mean?
I saw a movie on the plane to LA last night. It was called ‘Morning Glory’ starring Harrison Ford, Diane Keaton, and Rachael McAdams. A really great story about ambition and a girl with a hard work ethic.
If you have not seen the movie, I highly recommend you rent it. I won’t ruin it for you with any specific details, but I do want to share Continue reading »

Increasing our personal and business productivity can be a daunting task and sometimes we don’t even know where to start. There’s so much information coming toward us, and the list of things to do seems to grow while we’re sleeping. Maybe it’s time to stop trying to do it all right now, and take a different approach. Let me explain.
What if you could do something every day to Continue reading »

I know it sounds crazy to just do four things a day! But before you dismiss this as a silly idea let’s talk about what this really means. Have you ever heard of Parkinson’s Law? It’s also known as the 80/20 rule. Formally stated, Parkinson’s Law says that your work will expand to fill the exact amount of time you make available. Simply put, if you allow a whole day to complete a task, it will take all day. Studies have shown that just Continue reading »

There is always so much to be done in our businesses. We work hard each day to wake up and do it all again. As entrepreneurs, we could all use some more time to work on our business as opposed to just in our business. The daily action habits and commitments often keep us in a place where there is always so much to do. Yet many ideas and opportunities are around us that seem exciting and possible.
I started thinking about college, or even high school for that matter, where we picked our class schedule and planned out where we had to be and when. We had a well organized time frame to do a little bit of everything we needed to learn and focus on. We also knew that Continue reading »

We all want to be successful and we each have our own definition of what that means. I can imagine that most of us even know the steps to take to move toward that result. Some of these things include setting goals, productivity priorities, having a life vision, time management skills, personal discipline…and the list goes one. Discussion on any one of these values could fill a book, and they’re all important.
But I want to take a minute Continue reading »

We have made it 2 weeks into the new year! How do you feel? What have you accomplished? Are you sticking with the intentions and commitments you set for yourself for how you will be (and do and have) more in 2011? This is a great time to check in with yourself because statistics say that these next 2 weeks about 85% of the people will fall out of the New Year’s love bubble and lose momentum and focus. Not you, right? Here is what to look for and put a stop to before it is too late.
People lose their focus because new habits are a fun idea but less fun to implement. Good intentions only Continue reading »
