Accelerate Your Business – Focus On Today

June 3rd, 2011

What would it take to accelerate your business in the next 30 days? Read that question again and really think about the answer. List as many ideas and resources that you can think of. If your life depended on it (or the life of someone you care deeply about), what are you capable of pulling off in a 30 day period of time that will absolutely transform your business and take you to a whole new level. Can you imagine what that would look like? If you could have that kind of breakthrough, how would that make you feel?

Here are a few ideas that came to mind when I think about Continue reading »

Making The Right Choices – Discipline For Success

April 13th, 2011

We often go into business for ourselves so we can have more freedom, flexibility and because there is no glass ceiling for the income we can bring in. The sky is the limit for what we can create and it is very easy to get excited about what is possible. Yet the idea of thinking big, is enough for most people. This must be true or more people would be taking action to create the business and the life that they dream about. The business and the life they talk about.

I was that person for most of my life and I am not pointing any fingers, because I know from looking back at my own experience that I didn’t even know I was in my own way. Success stories are Continue reading »

How To Stay Inspired – Getting Motivated

March 19th, 2011

We all want to wake up each day feeling fully motivated and inspired to do amazing things.  It works out that way sometimes, but we can’t count on it every day.  No one stays on the “mountain top” all the time; if we did, we’d feel drained emotionally.  I think what we really desire is to find a way to stay inspired and motivated on a consistent basis.  There are some actions we can take to insure a steady sense of fulfillment and forward motion.  It might be easier than you think.

First of all, take responsibility for yourself.  When we were Continue reading »

Habits Of Success – Do You Have What It Takes?

February 14th, 2011

The question is always on my mind.. “What is the difference between those who have achieved success and those that are seeking success?” I was at an event this past weekend in LA called ‘Success Leaves Traces’ and the conversation for 2 full days was all about that question. It is a topic that is of interest to almost everyone. Success may mean different things to different people but the habits of success are the same no matter who you are or what you want.

As I was on the plane coming back to the cold and snow, I thought… being a sun seeker is nothing like being a success seeker! We can’t just jump on a plane and arrive. Maybe that is a silly thought, but I Continue reading »

What Matters Most – Stop Being a Busy Bee

February 9th, 2011

Ever notice how each day can bring more to do, especially when you love information and have a rush of new ideas almost all the time. It is easier and easier to grow busy and lose track of yourself and the things that are most important. Have you been a busy bee? It seems to be going around lately and it is easy to catch! I happen to know a few remedies.

1. You have to make tough choices. Be clear on what’s important to you and hold on to that priority no matter what tries to steal your attention. There are a great number of Continue reading »

Welcome!! Happy February! Love Month!

February 1st, 2011

Happy February!!

Welcome to my blog, perfect for small business owners and entrepreneurs (those who are and those who want to be!). I know there are many blogs available on the Internet today and that you have many choices about where to spend your time. I am honored that you are here. Thank you! You can learn about me at ‘about Helen’ page, or just look through the recent posts and categories and see if there is a topic you’d like to know more about.

This is a photo of my sweet and amazing husband. This is the man behind my success. He is my best friend and I would not be half the person I am without him! His encouragement and support has been priceless! As it is the month of Love I’d thought I’d share a photo of the two of us together. A strong support team, whether that is 1 or 10, is very important to your success!

The theme this month is all about Cultivating Relationships. How can you strengthen your current and past friendships? What unique things can you do to enhance your connections, online and off? Who do you want to know better and what can you do to get their attention and win them over? I’ll offer up some ideas this month, starting with the post on February 1, check it out and leave a comment about something you will commit to take action on in February to cultivate stronger realtionships.

Increase Productivity – 1% At A Time

January 31st, 2011

Increasing our personal and business productivity can be a daunting task and sometimes we don’t even know where to start. There’s so much information coming toward us, and the list of things to do seems to grow while we’re sleeping. Maybe it’s time to stop trying to do it all right now, and take a different approach. Let me explain.

What if you could do something every day to Continue reading »

Daily Tasks – 4 Actions To Be Wildly Productive

January 27th, 2011

I know it sounds crazy to just do four things a day!  But before you dismiss this as a silly idea let’s talk about what this really means.  Have you ever heard of Parkinson’s Law?  It’s also known as the 80/20 rule.  Formally stated, Parkinson’s Law says that your work will expand to fill the exact amount of time you make available.  Simply put, if you allow a whole day to complete a task, it will take all day.  Studies have shown that just Continue reading »

The Big Event 2011 – Highlights

January 24th, 2011

I was at a live event this past weekend that was put on by Bob Burg and Paul Martinelli. It was called ‘The Big Event 2011′ and it certainly was big in every way! Big names, big ideas, big visions, and big connections! These type of events are a big part of keeping our inspiration and our education moving forward so that we can create a business that is thriving. We know our business has great potential and live events like this one allow us to bring out more of  our potential.

Each speaker this past weekend hit a home run with their presentations and the audience was left with actionable insights that could help them where they may have felt stuck prior to the event. At the very least you should find one live event a year to attend and better yet is at least one every quarter. This is especially helpful as an entrepreneur because we often feel isolated in our businesses and Continue reading »

Working On Your Business – Organize Your Time

January 19th, 2011

There is always so much to be done in our businesses. We work hard each day to wake up and do it all again. As entrepreneurs, we could all use some more time to work on our business as opposed to just in our business. The daily action habits and commitments often keep us in a place where there is always so much to do. Yet many ideas and opportunities are around us that seem exciting and possible.

I started thinking about college, or even high school for that matter, where we picked our class schedule and planned out where we had to be and when. We had a well organized time frame to do a little bit of everything we needed to learn and focus on. We also knew that Continue reading »

Taking Action – Words Of Encouragement

January 17th, 2011

We all want to be successful and we each have our own definition of what that means.  I can imagine that most of us even know the steps to take to move toward that result.  Some of these things include setting goals, productivity priorities, having a life vision, time management skills, personal discipline…and the list goes one.  Discussion on any one of these values could fill a book, and they’re all important.

But I want to take a minute Continue reading »

Your Goals Are In Danger! Read This To Keep Moving Forward

January 14th, 2011

We have made it 2 weeks into the new year! How do you feel? What have you accomplished? Are you sticking with the intentions and commitments you set for yourself for how you will be (and do and have) more in 2011? This is a great time to check in with yourself because statistics say that these next 2 weeks about 85% of the people will fall out of the New Year’s love bubble and lose momentum and focus. Not you, right? Here is what to look for and put a stop to before it is too late.

People lose their focus because new habits are a fun idea but less fun to implement. Good intentions only Continue reading »
