My Overwhelm Rescue Kit

September 29th, 2011

No matter who you are, how together you are (or others think you are), or how organized your plan is… overwhelm can still pay you a visit. I know this very well from personal experience. I am known as the “productivity princess” to many and the “queen of getting it all done” to others. I am about to take off my crown and keep it real for a minute. I am in need of an overwhelm rescue kit at this very minute, so I thought I’d step back, take a few deep breaths and create one right now. Others may find this valuable, I know I can’t be alone, so I wanted to share this process with you as I figure out in real time.

Step 1: Make a list of every little thing that is running through your mind, big and small, loud and soft. Things like; I didn’t call to reserve a hotel room for my trip this weekend, I promised to Continue reading »

Working On The Run – Be More Productive

July 11th, 2011

I travel a lot and have become pretty good at taking my business on the road and working from wherever I happen to be. This past week I was away for 10 days and certain things were essential to my success. Here are a few things that I have picked up that have really made a difference for me in terms of how productive I was able to be while away from my ‘home’ office. It takes some forward thinking and planning, but if you are organized at home with what your work schedule looks like, then taking it on the road can be a breeze.

1. Have a list of your current projects and the deadlines for each and every milestone that make up those projects. How many plates are in the air for you when you Continue reading »

What do you need to make it work?  Different circumstances take different ideas. Here is how you can pull it all together and create your own business in a box (as I call it).

A big thing to consider is how long you will be gone. There are a few ways to create a laptop lifestyle for yourself. One is that you may choose to Continue reading »

Making The Right Choices – Discipline For Success

April 13th, 2011

We often go into business for ourselves so we can have more freedom, flexibility and because there is no glass ceiling for the income we can bring in. The sky is the limit for what we can create and it is very easy to get excited about what is possible. Yet the idea of thinking big, is enough for most people. This must be true or more people would be taking action to create the business and the life that they dream about. The business and the life they talk about.

I was that person for most of my life and I am not pointing any fingers, because I know from looking back at my own experience that I didn’t even know I was in my own way. Success stories are Continue reading »

Imagine you are at a large networking  party or seminar. You go there with the idea to connect with a few key people and also to meet with past and current connections. What Stops Us From Moving Forward?

August 10th, 2010

We are all capable of great things and deep in our hearts we want to make a difference and create something to be really proud of. Many of us have great big goals and are working to bring our vision to fruition. Along that path we come across many opportunities to face off with resistance. A few will win that fight, but more then that will not and will give in to their resistance. What stops us from moving forward and what can we do about it?

Busywork – Everyday have the top priorities that you’ll have done by lunch and do absolutely nothing but those tasks. Busy work should be delegated or done only after the most important tasks have been complete. Keep your eye on what you are working to accomplish and set yourself a deadline.

Overwhelm – We will always be introduced to new opportunities and information and it is not a bad thing to take note of those things that could be of great value to us. We know the value of Continue reading »

June 9th, 2010

We are now nearing the end of the second quarter and that means we are almost at the half way point for 2010! Can you believe it? It seems like only weeks ago, or even just a few months ago that we were all excited about the fresh clean slate of a new year and what we wanted to accomplish in 2010! The half way point marks the perfect place to stop and do a quick review and measure the results that we have seen so far. There is still time to accomplish everything you want to accomplish this year. So it is time to make those goals a priority and kick up the focus factor.

We all have the same amount time each day and the difference between those who accomplish their goals and those who do not is how they spend that time. Life can be very busy and days and weeks can pass by in a blink unless you have a plan of action and you stick to that plan every day. In order to accomplish more, you need to keep the most important tasks in front of you at all times and you need to do those things first in your day. There are 6 months left for you reach your targets for 2010.

Achievers – Only 1% Of Us Will Reach Our Goals

April 11th, 2010

I read that only 1% of us are going to reach our goals. How does that sit with you? I didn’t believe it at first, but I continued reading and it became more clear. Most everyone has goals and ideas for a better life but they feel content with just thinking about it. Maybe they would not agree or admit that, but that is what their actions are saying about them. Only 1% take action and are determined to do whatever it takes to accomplish what they have set out for themselves. Sad, but true!

I am not sure about you but I have a new goal to be one of those 1%!! I want more for myself and I am willing to do whatever it takes! I feel like I have a great advantage right now because of the 10k coaching program I am in with Connie Ragen Green as my esteemed mentor. I was thinking about an experiment you may be interested in. You can create an advantage for yourself that will break you out of the box you have been hiding in… here is what I am thinking will make a difference for you if you are seriously committed 100% to your goal.

1. Choose something you want to achieve or accomplish in the next 90 days? It should be big and bold!

2. Make sure you believe it is possible and that you deserve it. Check in to make sure you are 100% committed! Ask yourself, “am Continue reading »
